Compliant fuel storage, above or below ground

Our self-bunded above-ground steel tanks and underground fibreglass tanks are built to AS 1940 (the storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids). For above-ground installs that call for a protected tank, we build to the licensed STI Fireguard® steel tank system.

Capacities run from 2,000L to 200,000L in standard ranges, with custom fabrication available for larger or non-standard sites. Every tank is manufactured under ISO 9001 quality control at Tomago NSW or Kwinana Beach WA.

Don’t risk your critical infrastructure on a tank with no warranty

An importer can’t register a Fireguard® 4-hour rated tank, and without registration its warranty is void.

Hospitals, data centres, mines and defence sites depend on their fuel storage. An imported tank may be cheaper, but that’s because it comes without the warranty.

For Fireguard® 4-hour rated tanks the warranty is the biggest difference. See Fireguard® 4-hour rated tanks: made in Australia or imported, or read the Fireguard® performance warranty (PDF).

Above-ground steel tanks are built to AS 1940 and AS 1692, and Fireguard® 4-hour tanks to the licensed STI Fireguard® system (UL 2085). Underground double-wall FRP tanks are built to UL 1316 and AS 1692. See accreditation.
Not with a self-bunded tank. Its integral steel bund meets State and Territory requirements. Single-wall tanks sit in a simple concrete bund.
Fireguard® tanks are rated to the SwRI 4-hour fire test and can reduce separation distances by as much as 50%. Flameshield® tanks are accredited to a 2-hour fire test.
Yes. Self-bunded and Flameshield® 2-hour tanks can be built with separate compartments for each grade, depending on tank size, and double-wall FRP underground tanks take up to 4 compartments.
Above ground is quicker to install and easy to inspect. Underground saves space and suits service stations and busy yards. Compare the options on the above-ground and underground fuel tank pages.
