Built for remote mine sites

Our above-ground steel fuel tanks and FRP chemical tanks are built for long freight distances, remote handling and harsh conditions without ongoing maintenance. Our WA manufacturing site at Kwinana Beach sits close to major mining freight routes.

GRP Tank Solutions’ fibreglass construction resists the corrosive chemicals used in mineral processing (acids, caustic and process reagents) without the coating maintenance a steel tank in the same duty would need.

What we supply to mine sites

  • Site diesel storage
  • Process chemical and reagent storage
  • Leach and process tanks
  • Fume scrubbers and stacks
  • Accommodation village pump stations
  • Fire-rated fuel storage

Which tank does a mine site need?

Start with what the tank holds and where it sits. Diesel usually goes in steel, process chemicals in fibreglass. See all our diesel storage tanks.

Common questions

Can’t see yours? Call NSW +61 2 4964 8270 or WA +61 8 9434 1707.

Yes. Tanks ship from our ISO 9001 sites at Tomago NSW and Kwinana Beach WA, and Kwinana Beach sits close to major mining freight routes. Fibreglass tanks are light, so large tanks can reach remote sites economically.
Fibreglass (FRP). It resists acids, caustic and process reagents without the coating maintenance a steel tank in the same duty would need. We match the resin to the chemical and design to AS 2634, BS 4994 and ASME RTP-1. See chemical storage tanks.
Not with a self-bunded tank. Its integral steel bund meets State and Territory requirements, so there is no concrete or earthen bund to build.
Self-bunded tanks hold up to 110,000L of diesel, and single-wall horizontal tanks run to 150,000L each. FRP chemical tanks run to 75,000L above ground and 500,000L underground, and larger vessels are built in sections and assembled on site, such as the 230,000L leach tanks at Cosmic Boy.
Yes. We engineer FRP scrubbers, stacks, ducting and bio-filters to your process and airflow, as we did for the Tronox plant upgrade.
Yes. Mullaly pump stations went into the 4,000-person Sino Iron Red River village, installed in under a week.
Our sister company GH Fabrications builds structural steel and mining fabrication at Tomago NSW, including ventilation control devices for underground mines.
