FRP scrubber system for a titanium dioxide pigment plant

FRP scrubber system for a titanium dioxide pigment plant.

Background

Tronox’s mineral sands operations and its Kwinana pigment plant form one of the world’s largest integrated titanium dioxide operations. Around 70% of the synthetic rutile produced at the Chandala processing site goes to Kwinana to be converted into titanium dioxide through the chloride process.

The solution

As part of the plant’s 2007 expansion and upgrade, GRP Tank Solutions supplied an FRP scrubber system built to resist the corrosion and abrasion expected inside it.

Products and scope

Products: FRP scrubber system.

Our scope: material selection for corrosion and abrasion resistance, and manufacture.
