What it is

AdBlue is sensitive to temperature and can begin to degrade above 26 °C. Storing it underground keeps it at a relatively low, stable temperature.

Tanks can be supplied on their own or as one compartment of a multi-compartment tank that also holds diesel or petrol, so one excavation serves several products.

Why an FRP AdBlue tank

AdBlue is a 32.5% urea solution made to ISO 22241. It attacks copper, brass, zinc, aluminium and carbon steel, so the tank and its fittings have to be made from materials that stand up to it. Our fibreglass (FRP) tanks are compatible with AdBlue and don’t rust or corrode, and a double-wall tank adds secondary containment with leak monitoring between the walls.

AdBlue also freezes at about −11 °C. Below ground the tank stays clear of both summer heat and frost. For the rest of the site, see our underground fuel tanks and service station tanks.

Yes. An AdBlue tank can be one compartment of a multi-compartment tank, with diesel or unleaded petrol in the others, so one excavation serves several products.
Both. AdBlue tanks are made in single or double-wall FRP, as a stand-alone tank or a compartment.
Tanks are built to your site. Send us the volume and application in the form below and a sales engineer will confirm the size and dimensions.
AdBlue corrodes copper, brass, zinc, aluminium and carbon steel, so tanks and fittings need a compatible material such as fibreglass (FRP), stainless steel or polyethylene. Our underground AdBlue tanks are FRP.
Yes, at about −11 °C. An underground tank is protected from frost as well as from heat.
